Join the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce on April 9th at Wink for our Monthly Chamber Luncheon.

We’re excited to welcome Sheyenne Alvarez, Program Manager with the City of Austin’s Small Business Division, who will share insights on Austin becoming Kiva’s newest hub — expanding access to crowdfunded small business loans and alternative funding opportunities — alongside key local resources available to entrepreneurs.

This program opens doors to capital for so many folks who are currently shut out of opportunity for traditional lending, or even CDFI lending. It's an opportunity to start small, build trust, stability, and capacity, and graduate to business growth. It's also an awesome opportunity for local Austinites to support Austin small business owners.

About Sheyenne Alvarez:

Sheyenne Alvarez is a Program Manager with Austin Economic Development, where she leads initiatives that expand access to capital for small businesses, including Austin’s Kiva Hub. With a background in community lending and years of experience working directly with entrepreneurs, she focuses on helping business owners navigate financing options and build toward long-term financial sustainability. As part of the City’s Small Business Division, she also works alongside a broader team that provides business education, one-on-one coaching, and artist career training—ensuring entrepreneurs in all stages have the support they need to grow and thrive.
