After years of serving the Chamber and our community, we’re gathering for a casual happy hour with friends, members, partners, and community to celebrate Colton, share some memories, and send him off with plenty of love.

A note from Colton:

After almost five years at the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, I’m writing you with bittersweet news that this Friday, October 2nd, will be my last day serving as VP of Marketing & Communications at the Chamber.

It’s difficult to put into words what these years have meant to me. This role has been SO much more than a job! I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside incredible people, champion LGBTQ+ and allied businesses, create events and experiences that bring our community together, and build friendships and relationships that I know will continue long after my last day at the Chamber.

Working with all of you and serving the Chamber and Austin’s LGBTQ+ business community has truly been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. One of my favorite parts of this role has been getting to see and celebrate your successes along the way, from Rainbow Ribbon Cuttings and grand openings to anniversaries, expansions, big wins, and all of the milestones in between. I’ve LOVED getting to tell your stories, promote what you’re doing, connect people and ideas, and find new reasons to brag about our members.

That part definitely isn’t ending when I leave the Chamber. I’ll still be singing your praises, cheering you on, and sending people your way whenever I can. Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, showing up, and letting me be a small part of so many of those moments.

I'm so excited to share that I’ll be joining the amazing team at Visit Austin as Partnerships Manager on October 5th! It feels like a natural next chapter for me, and I’m really excited to continue doing what I love: building relationships, bringing people and organizations together, and creating meaningful partnerships that support Austin and the people who make this city so special.

I’m especially excited that this new role will give me the opportunity to continue working with many of you, just in a different capacity. I’m looking forward to finding new ways to work together and, where there’s a fit, exploring opportunities to partner with Visit Austin. The relationships I’ve built through the Chamber mean a lot to me, and I hope they’ll continue well into this next chapter. Let’s grab coffee soon!🌈💜
