Counselor - Youth & Adult (Part Time - Evenings)

LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a part-time, evening Counselor to join our Youth & Adult Counseling team! The service philosophy of our Youth & Adult Counseling program embraces a strengths-based, outcome-oriented, collaborative approach utilizing evidence-based models. The program model is based on the belief that all individuals have the capacity to develop their own solutions. We focus on strengths, help individuals identify goals, and, while assisting them in their personal journey, facilitate their progress towards those goals. In addition to providing counseling services to individuals, families, couples, and groups, the counselor will need to maintain robust documentation following program guidelines.

This position is scheduled for the evenings (4:30pm-8:30pm) at least three evenings per week. There is also the opportunity for additional Saturday hours (9:00am-1:00pm.) This position offers a 5% differential for anyone who is bilingual in English and Spanish. This position earns a competitive pay rate ranging from $27.16 - $29.68 hourly, for those with a provisionary license depending upon experience. For those with advanced licensure, the starting pay rate will range from $32.98 - $35.86 hourly depending upon experience. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides individual, couples, group and/or family counseling based on program population, face-to-face or via telehealth.
  • Provides crisis intervention services with clients based on dividual program needs.
  • Administers client services which may include:
    • initial and on-going assessment;
    • diagnosis, session planning and treatment planning;
    • record keeping;
    • case management tasks as appropriate;
    • evaluation of client progress;
    • contacting and collaborating with internal and external collaterals;
    • follow-up.
    • provides appropriate referrals; keeps apprised of available community resources.
  • Maintains documentation of all services in accordance with agency and funding requirements.
  • Provides community outreach as required by individual program.
  • Follows licensure requirements as determined by program, agency, and/or grants.
  • Maintains documentation of CEUs.
  • Assists in program development, quality assurance, and special projects, such as conducting file reviews and actively engaging in program improvement projects.
  • Provides support and supervision to interns as appropriate.
  • Participates in agency and community committees which may include agency working groups or community collaboration initiatives as approved by supervisor.
  • Attends team meetings, supervision, and clinical supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.

For Bilingual Spanish-service staff only:

  • Provides services in Spanish, translates documents and assists in special projects related to the Spanish speaking community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field;
  • Holds initial licensure (ex: LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A) or is able to obtain within 6 months of hire;
  • Requires 6+ months direct clinical experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
