Role Description
OutWellness is seeking a full-time, on-site Physical Therapist to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role is for a clinician who is excited to work across both rehabilitation and preventive wellness.
The Physical Therapist will evaluate and treat clients experiencing pain, recovering from injury or surgery, or navigating gender-affirming care. They will also work with clients who are not in pain but want professional guidance to become stronger, move more confidently, prevent injuries, or reach personal fitness goals.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Conducting individualized evaluations and movement assessments
- Developing and adjusting evidence-informed treatment plans
- Providing post-operative rehabilitation and gender-affirming care
- Designing personalized strength, fitness, and injury-prevention programs
- Writing workout plans for clients who want to improve their health or performance, including those without an injury or pain condition
- Delivering one-on-one and small-group physical therapy or fitness sessions
- Educating clients about movement, recovery, injury prevention, and sustainable exercise
- Documenting care clearly, accurately, and promptly
- Collaborating with medical, fitness, and wellness professionals to support coordinated care
- Contributing to community wellness programs and an environment where people feel respected, affirmed, and welcome

Qualifications
- Active Texas Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one, with a DPT or equivalent professional degree
- Strong clinical skills in evaluation, treatment planning, rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, and patient education
- Interest and ability in strength training, preventive care, fitness programming, and writing individualized workout plans
- Foundational medical knowledge necessary to understand relevant conditions and procedures and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals
- Clear communication, accurate documentation, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive practice, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care
- Genuine passion for caring for LGBTQ+ people and other historically marginalized or underserved communities
- Ability to provide affirming care without making assumptions about a client’s identity, body, relationships, goals, or lived experience
- Experience with post-operative rehabilitation, gender-affirming care, pelvic health, sports rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, or preventive wellness is beneficial
- Commitment to professional, ethical, evidence-informed, and client-centered care
