Love All Ways: Pride Month Open House & Rainbow Ribbon Cutting

The Cathedral, East Austin’s Latina- and locally-owned gallery housed in a restored 1930s church, announces the reception for Love All Ways, a solo exhibition by multidisciplinary Fine Artist Bode Robinson. The exhibition will be on view through the end of the month and will culminate in a reception at the gallery’s June Open House on Friday, June 26, with an Artist Talk at 6:15 PM followed by the Open House from 7:00–10:00 PM. The Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce will also be at the event to welcome The Cathedral as a member with an honorary Rainbow Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

Presented in honor of Pride Month, Love All Ways arrives at a cultural moment hungry for art that speaks to the interior life — work that does not perform queerness, but inhabits it. Robinson’s artworks are expansive visual fields built from layered color, intuitive form, and unresolved movement. They do not explain. They open.

At the heart of the exhibition is a recurring figure: the boxer. Robinson transforms this symbol of combat into one of profound tenderness — the stance, the gloves, the readiness for a fight recast as the postures we adopt when we have made ourselves our own opponent. Love All Ways asks what it would mean to redirect that readiness inward not as aggression, but as reckoning: to drop the gloves. To choose differently. 

Love All Ways is a proposition as much as it is an exhibition: that the love we extend outward — to the people in our lives, to our communities, to the world — can only reach as far as the love we are willing to offer ourselves. In a month dedicated to celebrating the full spectrum of identity and the freedom to love without apology, Love All Ways arrives as both mirror and monument.
