Austin’s entertainment industry is full of talent, but talent alone doesn’t remove the hurdles.
On August 20, The Creative Collective presented by PrismTone Entertainment is bringing together queer and allied voices from across Austin’s entertainment industry for a roundtable about the realities of creating, performing, producing, and building a career in this city.
We’ll be talking about the barriers entertainers and creatives encounter—from finding opportunities and getting paid fairly to accessing venues, building audiences, finding resources, creating meaningful industry connections, and being recognized for the work they’re already doing.
But this conversation isn’t just about the people at the table. We want to hear from the community.
What challenges are you facing? What resources are missing? What could venues, producers, organizations, and fellow creatives be doing better? And most importantly, what would make Austin a stronger place for entertainers to build sustainable careers?
Come have a drink, grab some food, meet people across the industry, and bring your perspective. The goal isn't to pretend we already have the answers. It’s to start by asking the people doing the work what they actually need.
